India Festival 2008

India Festival is filled with tastes, sounds and sights of India. There will be live music, excellent dance performances, food and entertainment! Catch a glimpse of India and its subcontinent’s culture, history and people.

This year’s India Festival will be held on August 17th, 2008 at Pioneer Courthouse Square in Downtown Portland, Oregon. Last year’s event attracted record-breaking crowds and ICA received many remarks about the high quality of performances!

Event Participation Form And Guidelines

  1. Event Date: August 17th, 2008
    • Time:11:30 AM- 8.30PM
    • Venue : Pioneer Courthouse Square, Portland

  1. Audition dates are:
    • July 28,2008 (tentative)
    • August 3,2008 (tentative)

Deadline to register for the participants is July 25th. However registrations will be closed after we receive seventy five entries.


  1. Please Remember:
    • A maximum of three performances per participant
    • A maximum of 2 songs per vocal group
    • No solo performances for performers under the age of 9


  1. An independent entertainment committee will be responsible for scheduling the various items. Time slots will be allocated based on audition results. Decision of the committee will be final. The participants will be informed of their time slot by a committee member by email a few days prior to august 17th.

  1. Participation fee:

There is a $10/- participation fee for each participant.

Groups with more than 10 participants will be charged a flat fee of $100.00-

Booth Registration Information And Rental Agreement

Both applicants: This applies only if you are taking a non restaurant booth that does not sell food or drinks: Restaurant spaces have been sold out

Booth Rental Guidelines

  • 1. I will open by booth before 11 AM and vacate Pioneer Square by 9.30 PM.
  • 2. I will clean my booth(s) and get it certified by an ICA board member before I leave.
  • 3. I understand that I will comply with all rules as stated by Pioneer Square and ICA
  • 4. I will be provided with electrical power as requested but under the guidelines of Pioneer Square

Non restaurant owner’s price for a 10×10 feet booth for 2008 is $600/booth. Booths are allocated on a first come basis and a full deposit is required to reserve ahead of time. Location of the booths is also on a first come basis. ICA will try to accommodate individual requests to the extent possible.

Two (2) booths that are open on three sides cost $650.00. Half booths (5 feetx10 feet) are $300.00

Booths will be provided with two tables and two chairs.

We strongly urge you to send in the full deposit and reserve your booth ahead of time. We expect all booth s to be sold out and will not accept any reservations without the full amount.

India Cultural Association (ICA) will make every effort to hold this festival on the published date. Weather related issues may cause the festival to be postponed or canceled. Festival has not been postponed or cancelled since its inception.
