2025 President’s Letter

Dear Friends,

It is my great pleasure to welcome you all to the vibrant and exciting India Festival at Pioneer Courthouse Square on August 24, 2025!

Today, we proudly celebrate India’s 78th Independence Day, honoring the birth of the world’s largest democracy. This festival is a tribute to India’s rich cultural heritage, and we are thrilled to present over ninety performances that showcase the diverse traditions, music, and dance forms of India.

This year, the response from the community has been truly overwhelming. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all our supporters—and a special shout-out to the dedicated parents and their children who have worked tirelessly to prepare for this celebration.

The India Cultural Association (ICA) has been organizing this incredible event for over 31 years, a remarkable achievement made possible by our amazing volunteers. Their dedication and countless hours of hard work are the backbone of this festival. KUDOS TO THEM! We are deeply grateful for their commitment.

We also extend our sincere thanks to our generous sponsors:  Prosper Portland, RACC, Oregon Community Foundation, and Mavensoft. Your support makes this event possible. We are equally thankful to all the vendors who have purchased booths, advertised in our Chakra magazine, sponsored banners, and made generous donations.

Culture plays a vital role in shaping a nation’s identity. At India Festival, you’ll experience a spectacular array of live traditional and Bollywood performances, classical and folk dances, and literary arts. And of course, don’t miss the delicious Indian cuisine—Tandoori chicken, Dosas, Mango Lassis, and much more! Be sure to visit all our vendor booths and support their businesses.

Children are invited to explore the Cultural Booth, where they can enjoy fun and creative activities throughout the day. Many families plan their summer vacations around this festival, and we are always inspired by the dedication of our participants.

Being part of ICA offers many benefits—from embracing Indian culture to developing leadership skills. We are proud that many of our past performers and attendees continue to support and uplift this event year after year.
